Lakones Village – Untouched, Traditional, Pristine

Lakones Village - Corfu Island

Lakones is definitely a village that deserves to be explored.

It is found on the way to one of the most frequently visited  spots in Corfu, that of “Bella Vista”.  So to get to Bella Vista everyone crosses this beautiful village but not many stop.

It will not take you long since it is not a huge place, but walking around it is going to be just a pleasing experience.

A visit to Lakones can be combined with a day at the beach in Paleokastritsa and an early evening coffee in Bella Vista. Or for those that wish to do more things in a day then why not explore the mountainous region of Corfu. Entering into the small roads from Troumpeta and following the signs for Angelokastro, Lakones, Paleokastritsa and further on Corfu Town.

OK a tip, if you are going by car park at the bottom of the town just around the corner as you see it on the photo at the bottom, then walk back up the town, the street you see here IS the main street though the town, but, behind where I took this shot is a small “square” with a lovely little cafe and a view over the bay below, it is a quaint, traditional Greek town and as already quoted so well worth a visit.
